Josh Lowder - Author EVENT
Josh Lowder is the author of the historical conspiracy thriller, The Cornerstone. As a former police officer and current fraud investigator in financial crimes, he blends his experience in criminal investigations and passion for history into crafting gripping, real-life narratives.
Born and raised outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Josh earned his bachelor's degree from Union University before spending several years residing in South Louisiana where the landscape, history, and culture left a lasting impression on his writing. Josh has since settled back in Tennessee with his wife and daughter, and their dog Jax, where he continues to pursue his love of storytelling. When he is not writing he can be found watching history documentaries, hiking the many trails scattered throughout Tennessee, or playing fetch with Jax.

She is a published novelist, short story and essay writer. As a professional developmental editor, she has worked with writers at every stage, from total beginners to authors with multiple books under their belt. She knows what it's like to both receive and give feedback. She is passionate about creating supportive communities for writers. Her workshops are places of encouragement and are designed around the needs of the people in them. Roy Hiller- Author Event
Roy Hiller lives in Nashville, TN with his wife, Charlene, and they have 2 grown children. After working as a procurement professional for over 30 years, he retired and began a career as a professional genealogist in May of 2018. He started writing stories in the early 2000s, but did not seek to publish until his award-winning debut novel, A Walk in the Dark, the first book in the Cat Williamson series, was published in April, 2025. Glimmers of Light, the second book in the series, is scheduled to publish in September 2026.
Roy is a member of the Sisters in Crime Middle Tennessee and the Mid-south chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). He is currently working on a number of projects including: a series of children’s chapter books with a focus on STEMM, a holiday picture book, and a new sci-fi disaster thriller set in 2058 entitled, Critical Mass.

Poetry Reading
Join us for a poetry read from a few very talented poets.
Known for his Billy Collins-esque wit and his On This Day in History poems, Ramon Presson has been engaged in poem making since the 3rd grade, receiving a 1st Place Award from the Academy of American Poets for his collegiate collection of original poetry. Ramon credits finding his poetic voice again after decades of silence and prose to Stellasue Lee, a poet twice-nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, who moved in 2007 from California to a mere three blocks away in their shared Thompson Station subdivision. Stellasue has been Ramon's personal mentor and greatest cheerleader since then. With poems published in several magazines and literary journals, Presson received the Janice Keck Literary Award in 2018 for his collection of poetry, Voice Lessons. A licensed marriage & family therapist in Franklin, Presson has been a featured humor columnist in local newspapers for two decades, now a regular in the Williamson Herald. Ramon Presson's philosophy of life and poetry is summed up in this quote by G.K Chesterton: “I do not deny that the world needs priests to remind us that we shall all one day die; but I insist that the world also needs another type of priest--the poet--to remind us that we are not dead yet.”
Jeff Hardin is the author of eight collections of poetry, most recently Coming into an Inheritance, Watermark, and A Clearing Space in the Middle of Being. His work has received the Nicholas Roerich Prize, The Donald Justice Prize, and the X. J. Kennedy Prize. The Hudson Review, The Southern Review, Image, Swing, Bennington Review, The Laurel Review, and Southern Poetry Review have published his poems. He lives in Columbia, TN, where, after 32 years, he recently retired from Columbia State Community College.

Whitney Rio-Ross Poetry Launch
Join us for a poetry launch by Whitney Rio-Ross. She is releasing her first collection called “Thunder Makes Us”!
Whitney Rio-Ross is the author of thunder makes us (Belle Point Press) and poetry editor for Fare Forward. She is a Pushcart Prize and Best Spiritual Literature nominee. Her poetry has appeared in Image, ONLY POEMS DAILY, SWING, minnesota review, Whale Road Review, The Pinch, and elsewhere. She is the winner of the 2021 Sacred Poetry Prize and lives with her husband and dogs in Nashville, TN.
She will be joined by friend and author Patricia L. Hamilton.
Patricia L. Hamilton won the 2015 and 2017 Rash Award in Poetry and received an Honorable Mention in 2019. She has also received three Pushcart Prize nominations along with other recognitions. Her work has appeared in numerous poetry journals in the U.S. and abroad. She is the author of The Distance to Nightfall (Main Street Rag) and Even Now (Kelsay Books). She resides in Jackson, TN, with her husband.

Bring your friends (or come by yourself) and spend your Thursday night at an event where you know everyone else is there for the same reason.
We'll be offering "big talk" conversational prompts on them to get you started, and we'll have lots of structure to make sure that you actually talk to people and that it's not awkward. Not feeling like answering a particular question? No worries, we'll have plenty to choose from, like, "When are you the happiest?" and, "If you were going to become close friends with me, what would I need to know about you?" We'll give you ground rules to make sure you feel comfortable and safe sharing as much of yourself as possible while still feeling in complete control of how much you divulge.
There will be food and drinks for sale!
Check-in for this event will begin around 6:45 pm. Please do your best to arrive before 7:00 pm so we can begin as close to on time as possible.

Author Bio:
“S.K. Bickel, better known as Savannah, is an author based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Her debut novel, DOUSED KINDLING, is the first in an interconnected contemporary romance series that focuses on real life relationships and the importance of holding them dear, no matter the cost. She currently resides in Nashville with her husband, dog, and soon-to-be baby boy. Her family, as well as the community that surrounds and supports her, are the very reasons she created this world. Jenn Bouchard is the award-winning author of PALMS ON THE CAPE, CONSIDERING US, and FIRST COURSE, as well as several published short stories. She has been teaching high school social studies for twenty-six years and also teaches short story classes to adults in her community. She is an avid cook, volunteer for good causes, and devoted Red Sox fan. A graduate of Bates College and Tufts University, she lives in the Boston suburbs with her husband and two teenage children.

Michael Chatfield is a Canadian Army veteran and international bestselling author who writes the kind of books he always wanted to read, characterdriven, gritty, tactical, and grounded in reality. With millions of books and audiobooks sold, and tens of thousands of reviews his work spans LitRPG, military sci-fi, fantasy, and post-apocalyptic survival.
He will be joined by author Joedan Worley: Joe was born with two legs, so he gave one away to charity (...or to the Marine Corps as a Navy Corpsman. Semper Fidelis). Joe now lives in Georgia with a way-too-big family, where he loves working, public speaking, and fundraising for veteran-focused nonprofits.
